After three decades of working for the industry 'big boys', we felt that hotels were often well run and professional but just lacked a certain something that only a privately owned and managed hotel can deliver. So we set out to find the right property to deliver what we see as our ideal hotel and after extensive research, we chose Lanes Hotel and set to work.

Put simply, we believed that it is possible to have a hotel that can compete with the budget chains on price and ease of online booking but also offer the facilities, food & drink and service levels of a 4* hotel. A hotel that is comfortable, modern and welcoming to business travellers as well as families and couples. We also wanted to offer bespoke weddings at an affordable price point in a stunning location.

Since finding and acquiring Lanes hotel in April 2015 we have been continually striving for these goals.

We have introduced easy online booking and we compete on price with the local budget hotels for much of the year. But also factor in that we offer superior bedrooms, a modern Brasserie restaurant serving uncomplicated, home-made dishes, a first-class spa and gym and 4 acres of beautifully manicured gardens including our very own ‘goat island’. We support the local producers and buy locally wherever possible, our extensive Somerset cider list celebrates the area and the artisan cider makers that surround us. Our meat is from local farms and the fish is straight from the Dorset coast only 20 minutes away.

Every wedding is special. We know that! And with over 60 years of wedding experience between us, we’ve seen and served a lot of weddings, yet every one is still unique. With our experience, we will guide you through the planning of your wedding to deliver the perfect day.

Our prime location makes us the perfect base for doing business in Yeovil, discovering the locality or a stopover when travelling to and from Devon and Cornwall. We’ve really enjoyed exploring Somerset with our respective families, we are sure that you will too.
